Elementary

Our elementary program, serving students from 1st to 8th grade, begins with a nurturing Montessori environment until grade 2, transitioning to a Classical environment from grade 3 onward. Students in this plane begin to learn 'how' to think rather than 'what' to think. They analyze and synthesize information presented to them, developing reasoning, imagination, and analytical skills, fostering collaboration in Montessori, and building justice and leadership skills in the Classical phase. The Montessori and Classical schools focus on teaching the whole child. Students are challenged toward working to achieve set goals and discover the world God created through inquiry and research. Mornings are devoted to Montessori exploration, while afternoons feature supplementary resources such as GoMath and SuperKids. Our diverse curriculum integrates religious education, encouraging students to set daily personal goals and fostering the holistic development of the whole child in the light of Christ.

A Glimpse Into Our Curriculum

  • Our elementary curriculum is designed to prioritize the development of a personal relationship with God. Students cultivate a daily habit of in-depth Bible study, memorize passages, psalms, and the Nicene Creed. They undertake creative projects, such as comprehensive reports on saints, and explore the intricate details of icons. The curriculum also delves into the rich traditions of the Coptic Church’s feasts and celebrations.

  • Our educational approach is tailored to the individual needs of each child. Maintaining low student-to-teacher ratios in our program allows for meaningful one-on-one interactions. Students actively explore both abstract and concrete concepts through hands-on tools like the stamp game, golden beads, bank game, and the snake game, fostering a comprehensive understanding of math. In language development, our students utilize tools such as grammar symbol tiles and the movable alphabet. To seamlessly bridge the gap between abstract and concrete learning, we integrate modern resources like Superkids and GoMath. This combination ensures a personalized and effective learning experience for every student.

  • Our students explore the world around them. They recreate maps of the world, learning about the diversity of countries and continents, and exploring the unique characteristics of each country—from places and animals to flags and plants.

We also teach Spanish through listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities, immersing students in the language in engaging, practical ways.

Our curriculum includes hands-on experiences like gardening, allowing students to connect with and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

  • Our curriculum is designed to nurture creativity at its core. In language studies, students delve deeply into crafting personal narratives, enriching their vocabulary, and refining their writing skills while mastering sentence structure and the intricacies of various parts of speech.

In the arts, students embark on a journey through the works of renowned artists like Van Gogh, immersing themselves in hands-on activities to recreate paintings in the artist's signature style. Additionally, students explore the rich tradition of Coptic Iconography, gaining insight into the symbolism and significance of each icon's colors and imagery.

Our music curriculum introduces students to musical notes, theories, and compositions. Through immersive experiences, students learn to appreciate and sing church hymns inspired by significant events, adding a harmonious dimension to their artistic exploration.

  • Going beyond the basics, our curriculum provides students with a comprehensive and enriching educational journey. In mathematics, students delve into advanced concepts such as multiplication, graphs, angles, and more. Our science curriculum immerses students in the wonders of the living world, covering topics like plant anatomy, volcanoes, and the composition of materials and objects. This, however, is just a glimpse of the extensive range of projects and experiments that our students engage with, ensuring a well-rounded and dynamic learning experience.

  • At our school, movement is a vital part of each day, an important part of our curriculum to support holistic learning and development. Children actively engage in physical activities indoors and outdoors—whether it’s recess, cooperative play, or structured physical education, they enjoy time in the gym, and on the playground. We believe in balancing indoor and outdoor experiences to foster well-rounded growth that includes the benefits of movement.
